I have the same problem! This helped me:
-use non-acetone nail polish (check the label and make sure acetone is NOT in the ingredients)
-use a good nail strengthener such as ORLY's Nail Defense or Sephora by OPI's strengthener, followed by a good base coat
if you're okay with leaving them polish free for a week or so and...

Have you tried just keeping your nails super short for like a week or two? The same thing used to happen to me, but then I would keep my nails really short, and I haven't had a problem after keeping them short and letting them grow back.

My nails keep breaking!!! They’re horrible looking. They keep splitting from the side and then peel, in the same spot after they grow! What should I do to stop this??? SOMEONE HELP!
