Hey, you posted about stamping earlier, so here’s what I’ve got to say :) The Konads are really nice, but they are also really expensive. Have you looked into the Bundle Monster (go to bundlemonster.com or search bundle monster stamps on amazon, they prob cost the same on each site anyway) stamps? They are a lot cheaper and have a lot of similar designs. They’ve got two sets (a 21 plate and 25 plate set, one is more small designs like stars or hearts and bows and the other is more patterns like lace and animal print, etc) to choose from. The downside is you can’t just buy one or two plates if you want only those, but with Konad you can. The bright side is the BM stamp plates are LOTS cheaper than konads *they are about $20 for each set!* (whereas you pay $6+ for each konad plate)
As far as polishes go, you don’t need to buy special stamping polish if you have polishes with a relatively thick (or at least not watery) cosistency. Konad harps about their “special polish” but it’s really really not necessary to buy. You can pick up $1 bottles of black and white that will do the same job!
Anyway, there ARE many other stamping plate sellers out there but I hear BM and Konad are the best because of their quality. I see a lot of no-name stamping sets on ebay that I kind of want to look into, but I don’t know how decent they are (the etching quality may or may not be shabby and what not), but like I said, theyre usually pretty cheap! Bornpretty is an online store that also sells stamping kits that are cheap but I hear their quality does not compare to konad and BM. Hope this helps!
This was great! I actually just purchased two different plates from Konad on Amazon. One has the animal prints and such and the other has little bows, hearts, stars, etc. They were only about 3$ each! And a stamper and scraper for about the same price. I cannot wait for them to come in the mail! I have a lot of thick polishes so I think I’ll be okay. This was really helpful, thanks for taking out the time to write this! XOXO
the others' comments about Konad's polish are correct - while they say to use theirs, you can use most nail polishes as long as they're on the thicker side. basically it has to be thick enough to retain the shape of the stamp. don't buy into the hype, especially if you own thicker nail polishes.
I’m not going to buy konad polish’s. I have so many colors I’m sure they’ll be fine. I’m playing in my order to amazon right now! I got M3, M57, and the scraper and stamper!
Also, I'm learning about stamping, too. I bought myself a Konad set 2 weeks ago, I'm still waiting for it to arrive. Konad is pricey. There are other brands, some better than others. I hear people (aka bloggers) LOVE Bundle Monster, and they're ridiculously cheaper (I found out about them like 10 minutes after I placed my Konad order. If I like the Konad set, I'll think about getting the BM ones, too). Google around for the other brands, I know Amazon and Etsy have some choices.
From what I understand, you can't find stamping kits in stores, which is kind of annoying.
Konad is the original and I hear the best, and they have customizable kits so you can specify which plates you want from their selection, or you can buy a pre-packaged kit, too. I did a customizable kit, that comes with 3 bottles of their "special" polish (my choice in colors), the stamper, scraper, and two plates of my choice. It came to about $35. They have other customizable kits that are more/less expensive, as well.
Good luck! I'm desperately waiting for my package to come in the mail!
Wow, good to know! Thanks so much for telling me - let me know when it comes in the mail and how it is! I’m gonna do some “research” right now :)
Konad says you need their "special" polish, but from what I read on nail blogs, any thick nail polish (like Sally Hansen Quick Dry or China Glaze or OPI) will work. I think Konad just wants you to buy their CRAZY overpriced polish.
Hahaha ohhh gotcha, well I have lots of OPI so I’m set! Do you know how many plates come in one package?
